Job description:
We are seeking an exceptional paralegal / legal assistant with a minimum of 3 years’ experience Trademark and Copyright, to assist our Intellectual Property Practice Group. We are specifically looking for a candidate who is able to work with multiple busy lawyers in an active, highly service-oriented practice. At our firm, we will nurture client relationships.
Paralegal /Legal Assistant Duties
- General legal assistant duties, including managing various correspondence, agreements, contracts, pleadings and discovery.
- Assist in creating, revising, proof reading and finalizing documents, including correspondence, pleadings and discovery.
- Regular telephone contact, email, and direct interaction with clients.
- Maintain organized electronic files.
- Conduct online domestic and international trademark clearance searches for new marks.
- Prepare and electronically file trademark applications, responses to office actions, Statements of Use, post-registration maintenance and renewal documents
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings and appointments.
- Prepare expense reimbursements for attorneys and assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate will have to draft trademark assignment documents, and other documents with USPTO; manage applications from prosecution stage through to registration and post-registration; manage docketing. Additionally, the candidate will work with foreign counsel to file priority and non-priority trademark applications; assist with registration and renewal of domain names for clients, including managing docketing for same; assist with online investigation as may be needed for enforcement of client
intellectual property rights.
