Job Title: Shareholder / Labor & Employment Law Partner
Location: Long Beach, CA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in-office; potential transition to 4 days based on firm needs)

About the Client

Our client is known for its sophisticated legal counsel across corporate, securities, litigation, and regulatory matters. The firm represents a diverse client base ranging from emerging growth companies to established institutions, with a collaborative culture that supports entrepreneurial attorneys looking to grow their practice within a respected platform.

 

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Labor & Employment Partner to join our client’s Long Beach office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney with an existing book of business who is looking to expand their practice within a dynamic and growth-oriented firm.
The ideal candidate is energetic, business-minded, and capable of both maintaining and growing client relationships while delivering high-quality legal counsel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and expand an existing book of business in labor and employment law
  • Advise clients on a wide range of employment matters, including:
    • Employment litigation
    • Workplace policies and compliance
    • Wage and hour issues
    • Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims
  • Represent clients in state and federal courts, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings
  • Provide strategic counsel to corporate clients on employment-related risk management
  • Collaborate with other practice groups to support cross-disciplinary client needs
  • Mentor junior attorneys as needed

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the California State Bar
  • Approximately 8–10+ years of experience in labor and employment law
  • Portable book of business (required)
  • Strong litigation and advisory experience
  • Proven ability to generate and sustain client relationships
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business development skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities

  • Open to candidates transitioning from firms that have recently closed or restructured
  • Also open to former solo practitioners seeking a stronger platform for growth
