A well-established San Fernando Valley law firm is seeking an exceptional Associate Attorney with 2 to 4 years of experience in Estate Planning, Corporate Transactions, and Tax Law to join our growing practice.
The ideal candidate will have experience advising high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, and closely held businesses on sophisticated estate planning, business succession planning, and corporate matters. Candidates should be comfortable handling a broad range of transactions involving trusts and estates, corporate governance, entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, and tax planning strategies.
Responsibilities include:
- Drafting and implementing comprehensive estate plans, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advanced wealth transfer planning documents.
- Advising clients on estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer, income, and property tax matters.
- Assisting with trust and estate administration, probate proceedings, and post-death tax planning.
- Structuring and forming business entities, including corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies.
- Advising business owners on corporate governance, operational matters, business succession planning, and transactional matters.
- Drafting and reviewing corporate agreements, including shareholder agreements, operating agreements, buy-sell agreements, and related transactional documents.
- Conducting legal research and preparing memoranda on complex tax, estate planning, and corporate law issues.
The successful candidate will possess strong academic credentials, exceptional analytical and legal writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters in a fast-paced environment. The position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to providing outstanding client service.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- LL.M. in Taxation (required or strongly preferred).
- 2 to 4 years of experience in estate planning, corporate law, tax law, or a combination thereof.
- Experience with sophisticated estate planning and business succession strategies.
- California Bar admission and active status in good standing.
- Strong drafting, research, and client counseling skills.
