Job Summary:
We are looking for an energetic, committed, and diligent Senior Civil Litigation Associate Attorney with eight or more years of litigation experience to work in a collaborative team environment. Experience in skilled nursing/medical malpractice, trust and estate litigation, elder
law, and/or business litigation is a plus.
This unique position is full-time, remote in California, and without a billable hour requirement. We are seeking a dedicated team member who shares our unwavering commitment to providing our client with high quality legal services. A successful candidate will be experienced in all facets of California litigation, from case inception through trial, including discovery, law and motion, and building a case for trial.
Key Skills and Responsibilities:
• Diligently manage a full caseload.
• Superior research and writing skills, with proven ability to draft pleadings, motions, discovery/discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• Experience taking and defending depositions, including expert witnesses.
• Ability to clearly and timely communicate with the court, opposing counsel, witnesses, and the client.
• Court/arbitration experience, including arguing/defending motions, attending conferences, and trials.
• Evaluate and develop case strategy in collaboration with client and team members.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active and in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Minimum of 8 years of civil litigation experience, with trial/arbitration experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of California civil procedure and court systems.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Exceptional writing skills and attention to detail.
• Client centric approach.
Preferred Experience:
• First or second chair trial and/or arbitration experience.
• Experience with mediation and/or arbitration.
• Familiarity with MyCase case management software.
Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary range: $170,000 – $195,000 (commensurate with experience).
