We are seeking an experienced and professional Memory Care Director to oversee day-to-day operations in an Assisted Living and Memory Care facility to eligible senior prospects. As a Memory Care Director, you will report to the Executive Director and maintain high quality programming for residents in the Community program. This program is a transformative approach which makes it possible for residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease to flourish.
Tasks of the Memory Care Director include:
- Management and supervision: provide direct supervision to caregiving staff in Memory Care; guide and support other involved staff. Ensure that Resident Assistants receive all required and necessary training to successfully perform their jobs.
- Resident wellness: Ensure that all programs and services align with the program's philosophy of care for persons living with dementia. Collaborate with Life Enrichment, Spiritual Care Services, and other departments to address all dimensions of wellness for residents.
- Resident assessment: perform or supervise resident assessment process to establish accurate levels of care.
- Resident care needs: assure that assessment data is developed into successful service plans. Coordinate resident care needs with Health Care Coordinator, Resident Assistants and outside health care professionals, as appropriate.
- Health care providers: maintain contact with residents’ health care providers, assuring that physician’s orders are clearly documented, clinical services provided, and health care issues are addressed.
Additional tasks of the Memory Care Director include:
- Medication room: manage the medication room and medication audit.
- Family relations: communicate with families regarding residents’ well-being.
- Budget: develop and monitor the Memory Care Program operating and capital budgets.
- Regulatory compliance: ensure compliance with Title 22 regulations, including staff training.
- Education: develop and implement staff training program.
- Leadership team: participate in leadership team, sharing responsibility for the overall success and well-being of the community, including residents and staff.

As a Memory Care Director, we are seeking the following qualifications:
- Bachelor degree, preferably in a relevant area.
- Two years supervisory and administrative experience, including budget and program development.
- Experience in direct provision of dementia care services in long-term care or community based setting.
- Strong knowledge about dementia, its latest treatments and trends.
- Computer literacy: knowledge of Microsoft Outlook suite of programs; able to learn and successfully use electronic heath records system.
- Current First Aid certification.
- Working knowledge of regulatory guidelines for Residential Facilities is a plus, but not required.
- Must be available some evenings and weekends.
