JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Community Relations Liaison in conjunction with the other members of the Admission Team, is responsible for activities and actions related to promoting the services and expertise of the organization to the medical community and to patients and family members. Moreover, the Community Relations Liaison is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources, responding to customer requests and concerns, and initiating contracts discussions with managed care organizations, government agencies, and other payers.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
1. Reports to Director of patient care services and interim area sales manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, business administration, or any related field
Experience:
- at least 1 years experience in health care marketing, preferably in hospice care operations.
- Ability to market aggressively and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
- Knowledgeable of the hospice benefit.
- Demonstrates good communications skills, negotiation skills, and public relations skills.
- Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
Other: Valid license with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or agency requirements and is in good working order.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Works in conjunction with the admission team. For example, assisting with verifying and completing all admission and financial information.
2. Responds to referrals for evaluation and/or admission to the organization’s program.
3. Executes marketing initiatives.
4. Understands and adheres to all laws, statutes and regulations regarding anti-kickback, lawful marketing activities (gifts and services), patient solicitation, and accurate marketing materials.
5. Initiates payor relationships through effective relationship establishments and maintenance with managed care organizations, government agencies, and other payers.
6. Continuously conducts market assessments and assists in the development of a comprehensive marketing plan designed to meet budgetary volume projections.
7. Executes marketing and promotional initiatives to achieve admission benchmarks.
8. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with current and potential referral sources and payer sources.
9. Builds and monitors community, customer, payer and patient perceptions of Alleviate Care as a high-quality provider of services.
10. Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of liaison’s territory including government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources, and competitor’s market positioning.
11. Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of community resources and assists customers in accessing community resources should services not be provided by Alleviate Care.
12. Create in-services for referral sources in the community.
13. Monitors and reports cost effectiveness of marketing efforts.
14. Attends and participates in in-services, staff meetings and case conferences.
15. Completes all documentation in an accurate and legible manner.
16. Complies with company policies and procedures, laws and regulations and standards of practice.
17. All other tasks and duties deemed necessary and appropriate.
