We are seeking a detail-oriented and fast-paced Legal Assistant to join our team in supporting three busy attorneys. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with court filings, calendaring, and preparing well-organized legal documents, with an emphasis on efficiency and accuracy in both state and federal courts.
Key Responsibilities
- File legal documents quickly and accurately with state and federal courts, including electronic and physical filings.
- Maintain and manage legal calendars, including deadlines, hearings, and court dates.
- Create and maintain table of contents and prepare legal documents using Best Authority software.
- Bind and organize legal documents for hearings, trials, and internal use.
- Assist in preparing and assessing complaints and related pleadings.
- Provide administrative support to a team of three attorneys, including document handling, formatting, and finalization.
- Perform light review of discovery materials (“strong discovery shafts”) but not responsible for legal research or full discovery drafting.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a law firm or legal department setting.
- Familiarity with state and federal court filing procedures (manual and electronic).
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and legal document formatting tools.
- Experience using Best Authority or similar tools for automating Table of Authorities/Table of Contents is strongly preferred.
- Excellent calendaring and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, especially in document formatting and preparation.
Work setup: 5 days week in the office
Pay: $80K-$100K per year
