SUMMARY
The Caregiver is responsible for providing personal assistance and routine daily care and services related to the residents in accordance with the Resident Care Profile, and as may be directed by the Executive Director and Assisted Living Director in order to enhance the residents’ independence and quality of life. In addition, the Caregiver is responsible
for assisting residents with recreational activities to help maintain their optimum level of functioning. Reports to: Assisted Living Director or Generations Care Director or Generations Program Director, as assigned.
The pay range is $21-22 per hour, depending on experience.
Available Shift:
- Friday-Tuesday, pm shift 3pm-11pm
- Friday-Monday, noc shift 11pm-7am
- Thursday-Saturday, am shift 7am-3pm
- Sunday, Monday & Wednesday, am shift 7am-3pm
- On-call, all shiftsÂ
We also offer a .50 per hour differential for the NOC shift.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in a healthcare environment or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to do simple mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work patiently with cognitively impaired individuals
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Standard household equipment (dishwasher, iron, vacuum cleaner, washer, dryer).
- Ability to assist cognitively impaired people with activities of daily living. Able to perform the physical requirements of the job. Good physical health is verified by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal testresult not more than 6 months prior or seven (7) days after employment.
- Possesses good character and displays a high degree of personal
- integrity. Ability to work with others in providing care. Ability to show sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults. Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families.
- Air-conditioned, well-lighted health care environment. In dementia unit, ability to work in secured area with heavy interaction with a demented population.
- Employees must pass a criminal record clearance prior to beginning work in the community. Employee must possess current first aid and CPR training prior to working with any residents. Employee must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
